It's Hard to Be Cool in an Uncool World

1989, I Wanna Records

cover of It's Hard to Be Cool in an Uncool World

First appearance on record.
A collection of songs by groups
which have no other connection except
the devotion of one Jim "Rev Cool" Carter
of Dayton, Ohio.
Has a version of "Walk to Delphi"
with a slightly different mix than
the album, plus the unfortunate feature
of a fade to end the song,
just as T. Novak's guitar solo begins.
(the band was not consulted about this)
Did they run out of grooves on the vinyl?

Also on the collection:
Human Switchboard, True Believers, Go To Blazes,
The Tall Lonesome Pines, The Reducers, Mecca Normal,
The Highwaymen and more...

Sample Some OKra

1991, Normal OK SP 1

cover of Sample Some OKra A collection of released and
unreleased tracks by Normal
bands. Includes Out of the Earth
from Walk to Delphi and a version
of Pet Sounds live on WFMU.
The WFMU track is from Nick Hill's
Music Faucet radio show, and was first
released on his cassette-only "best-of"
thing. A short-lived wacky lineup on
this one: Ron, Al, Dave and Terry, plus
ex-dB Eric Peterson on guitar and
Kevin Teschner on bongos.
